A delegation from the Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) met with Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail on Thursday to discuss youth empowerment, gender equality, and academic partnerships in the province. The meeting took place during an official visit to Quetta.
The YPF group, led by President Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar and General Secretary Nawabzada Mir Jamal Khan Raisani, emphasized the forum”s commitment to promoting democratic involvement and inclusive policy creation. Iftikhar stressed the need for increased female representation in Balochistan”s political landscape.
Raisani suggested forming alliances between the YPF and Balochistan”s universities to create lasting connections between academia and lawmakers. He argued that such cooperation would connect policymakers with the province”s young people, particularly students and future leaders.
Governor Mandokhail expressed support for the initiative, highlighting Balochistan”s twelve public universities and pledging his backing for the YPF”s endeavors. He underscored the significance of youth input in crafting effective legislation and development strategies. He praised the YPF”s cross-party nature and its dedication to uniting young legislators across political divides.
Raisani also shared the YPF”s intention to establish provincial chapters for the first time, calling the Balochistan visit a crucial step. The meeting concluded with an agreement to pursue joint projects focused on empowering youth, especially women, and fostering democratic principles through academic and political engagement in the region.
