World Stroke Day is being observed on Tuesday across the globe.

Stroke is a disease that affects arteries that lead to and within the brain. A stroke occurs when a blood vessel carrying nutrients and oxygen to the brain is either ruptured or blocked by a clot.

Stroke has been and continues to be a widespread disease worldwide, it is currently the single largest cause of disability and the second largest cause of death globally.
