World Malaria Day observed across globe

ISLAMABAD: World Malaria Day was observed across the globe on Tuesday with an aim to highlight preventive measures to reduce Malaria around the world. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by parasites that are transmitted to people through bites of infected mosquitoes.

About half of the world’s population is at risk of malaria, particularly those in lower-income countries. Malaria infects more than 500 million people each year and kills more than one million people, however, it is preventable and curable.
