Widow demands kidnapped daughter’s recovery

LARKANA: A widow Jamila Khatoon Mashori along with her aged mother Zarina Khatoon held a protest demonstration at Jinnah Bagh here on Tuesday against alleged kidnapping of her young daughter Sitara Mashori.

Resident of Nazar Muhalla Jamila complained to media persons that her husband died of an ailment five years ago and since then she is living with her three daughters and a son. She said her source of earning is sewing clothes, embroidery which she is doing at home and working at different houses.

A few months back, she added, a neighbouring woman, Mukhtiar Khatoon Chandio, came to my home and requested for the hand of my elder daughter 18-years Sitara but I refused because they were not good people. She said the same people abducted another relative, Malooka, a year ago.

She said that after my refusal people including Ayaz Chandio were giving me threats of kidnapping Sitara but I did not pay any heed but last Monday Ayaz and his companions forcibly abducted my daughter Sitara and a reported was registered at the Rahmatpur police station but the cops have done nothing as yet either to recover my daughter or to arrest the accused. She said they have nobody to help them except Allah. She urged the higher police and other relevant authorities to help recover her daughter, arrest the accused and dispense justice.
