QUETTA: Ameer, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Nazriyati), Quetta, Moulana Qari Mehrullah, has said that the widening of Sariab Road, Subzal Road and Sirki Road has added to the miseries of the residents instead of providing relief to the people.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, he said that slow pace of work for widening Sariab Road, Subzal Road and Sirki Road affected businesses of shopkeepers apart from creating traffic related problems. He said the usage of substandard material for construction of roads in Quetta was nothing but the wattage of government funds, adding that many areas of the provincial capital presented the picture of ruination.

He demanded of the authorities to take notice of the slow pace of work for construction of Sariab Road, Subzal Road and Sirki Road and direct the contractors of the project to expedite construction work for widening of the mentioned roads so that relief could be provided to the dwellers of the area.
