DADU: The water level in Manchhar Lake has receded and reached 118RL (reduced level), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

The floodwater in many villages has also started to drain. The Indus Highway has been cleared from Bhan Syedabad to Arazi, and the traffic has been restored partially. The Irrigation Department has started to plug the breach at zero point of Manchhar Lake. On the instructions of the Chief Minister of Sindh, relief work for the flood-hit people has been started.

The district administration also started surveying the damaged houses and villages. After 22 days, grid station of Bhan Syedabad city has been restored, and power supply has been resumed. On the other hand, another gastro patient died in Faridabad, Mehar city. The deceased was identified as Gul Muhammad Chandio, 50. The number of deaths due to gastroenteritis and malaria has reached 37 during the ongoing month.
