Islamabad: Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training, Wajiha Qamar, inaugurated the Quaid-e-Azam Corner and the Iqbal Corner at the National Book Foundation in Islamabad today. Speaking on the occasion, she emphasized the importance of these initiatives in honoring the 150th birth anniversaries of Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, aligning with the vision of Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal.

According to Radio Pakistan, Wajiha Qamar highlighted that these intellectual and cultural spaces are designed to impart the thoughts and ideals of these eminent leaders to the younger generation. She underscored the significance of the corners in showcasing Pakistan's national heritage and intellectual traditions, as well as conveying the message of its founders.

The Minister of State commended the National Book Foundation for its contributions to academic, literary, and publishing fields. During her visit, she explored the National Book Museum, the Indonesian Corner, and various departments within the Foundation. She expressed admiration for the rare collections of books, ancient Quranic manuscripts, and other creative works, recognizing them as vital components of Pakistan's scholarly and cultural legacy.

Wajiha Qamar also showed interest in the special Qur'an section, the Sufi Corner, and exhibitions dedicated to notable poets and writers. She appreciated the National Book Foundation's efforts in promoting literature and preserving intellectual heritage. Additionally, Managing Director of the National Book Foundation, Dr. Kamran Jahangir, provided her with a briefing on the new National Curriculum, which is anticipated to be implemented from March next year.
