ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has said that vibrant parliamentary diplomacy can harness the challenges of global climate change.
Talking to Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins here in Islamabad on Tuesday, he lauded the role of Pakistan-Australia Parliamentary Friendship Group in promoting parliamentary diplomacy and enhancing parliamentary relations through parliamentary exchanges. The speaker underlined the need of boosting the existing relations between Islamabad and Canberra by increasing parliamentary interactions and economic cooperation.
Talking about the unprecedented calamity caused by recent deadly floods in Pakistan, the Speaker said the National Assembly would move an emergency resolution in the 145th Inter-Parliamentary Union meeting to begin in Rwanda from 11th of this month. Speaking on the occasion, the Australian senior diplomat said Australian investors are keen to invest in Pakistan’s markets for the benefit of the people on both sides.
