The new US Consul General in Karachi, Charles Goodman, met with Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori at Governor House to strengthen ties between the two countries. Their conversation covered potential investment, educational partnerships, and humanitarian programs.

Governor Tessori presented Pakistan’s investment landscape, highlighting the role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council in assisting foreign investors. He illuminated the abundant opportunities in Sindh and detailed his social programs. These include the public complaint system “Bell of Hope,” a large-scale food distribution program, and free IT training for 50,000 youth at Governor House. He also mentioned the distribution of laptops among students and interest-free loans for business ventures.

Consul General Goodman expressed his appreciation for Pakistani cuisine, prompting the Governor to extend an invitation for a shared dining experience at Karachi’s Burns Road food street. Goodman noted the growing interest of US investors in Pakistan and described Tessori’s social work as a model of public service.

The Consul General termed his visit to the historic Governor House an honor and penned his thoughts in the visitors’ book. He was presented with a shield, a Jinnah cap, and an ajrak shawl as gifts by Governor Tessori.
