Permanent delegate of Pakistan to UNESCO, Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, addressed the plenary session of the 221st session of UNESCO’s executive board in Paris, emphasizing the need for a robust and sustainable budget to tackle strategic priorities.

During her address, the ambassador reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening UNESCO to face contemporary challenges effectively. She highlighted the importance of strategic rationalization within the organization and advocated for enhanced synergies and a reduction in overlapping efforts.

Baloch urged UNESCO to promote scientific collaboration to tackle shared issues and to ensure scientific advancement remains free from artificial barriers and strategic competition. She commended the dedication of UNESCO staff and stressed the importance of transparency and accountability within the organization.
