The United Nations is increasing its support to Pakistan to deal with the devastating floods in the most affected provinces of Balochistan and Sindh.

Addressing a briefing at UN Headquarters in New York, Spokesman Stephane Dujarric said that the UN team has mobilized 7 million dollars to respond to the floods in Pakistan.

He said the UN has provided 1,100 metric tonnes of food ration, therapeutic feed and nutritional supplements in the affected areas.

The spokesperson said, following a rapid assessment, a response plan is being finalized to coordinate the joint response and call for further resources.
