A major terrorism plot was foiled following a successful intelligence-based operation in a commercial market on Faisalabad Road, which resulted in the arrest of a suspected terrorist belonging to a proscribed organization.

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Sahiwal Region conducted a swift operation at Galaxy Mall and arrested a suspect belonging to the terrorist group TTP/FAK.

Bomb-making materials were recovered from the arrested individual’s possession, which included explosives, a locally made Improvised Explosive Device (IED), and various electrical components such as a circuit, wiring, an electric detonator, and a battery.

Authorities identified the arrested person as Rahmatullah son of Karimullah. He is a Yousafzai Pashtun and a resident of Dheri Baba Damghar area of Tehsil Kabal, District Swat.
