Tribal jirga declares not to pay extortions to outlawed organisations

Tribal jirga of Duki on Sunday announced not to give extortion to any outlawed organisations including Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). This decision was made in the tribal jirga (counsel) held in Municipal Committee Duki in connection with remote controlled bomb blasts in Duki, letters to the owners of coal mines regarding extortion, closure of coal mines and law and deliberate upon order situation in Duki.

Addressing the jirga, speakers condemned the killings of innocent citizens, personnel of Frontier Corps Balochistan, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), police and levies force in remote controlled bomb blasts.

They said that threats and intimidation could not force Pushtuns to pay extortions. They said maintaining law and order situation in Duki was the responsibility of district administration Duki and FC.

The leaders said that the Chief Minister Balochistan and the Chief Secretary would be approached to ensure maintaining law and order situation in Duki.

Speaking on the occasion, MPA Sardar Masood Luni said that Deputy Commissioner, Duki, Fayaz Ali Hazara, had failed to maintain law and order situation in Duki.

The MPA said that he would bring the transfer case of Deputy Commissioner, Duki into the notice of Chief Minister Balochistan. He said that Chief Minister Balochistan would be requested for appointment of 500 police personnel against sanctioned posts of police constables besides making a request to Commander 12 Corps Quetta for appointment of 500 men of Duki for civil security.

Jirga was also addressed by central leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N, MNA Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Nasar, Sardar Masoom Khan Tarin, Sardar Akbar Khan Nasar, Nawab Khan Dumar and others.
