Triage Unit inaugurated at Quetta hospital

Minister for Health Balochistan, Sardarzada Mir Faisal Khan Jamali on Monday said that steps were being taken on priority basis to overcome the deficiency of healthcare machinery and medicines at Teauma centre of Sandeman Provincial Hospital Quetta.

These views were expressed by him while inaugurating ‘Triage Unit’ at Trauma Centre of Sandeman Provincial Hospital Quetta.

Giving briefing to the health minister, Managing Director, Trauma Centre, SPH, Arbab Kamran Kasi, said that triage was a process used to prioritise as to who needed emergency medical attention first, whether injured or sick people or disaster or disaster survivors, adding that patients were triaged according to their need for emergency.

During inspection of Trauma Centre, Jamali interacted with doctors, staff and inquired after the health of patients admitted to the Trauma Centre.

On the occasion, Director General, Health Services Balochistan, Dr. Farooq Hoot, Medical Superintendent, Sandeman Provincial Hospital Quetta, Dr. Ishaq Panezai, Medical Superintendent, Bolan Medical Complex Hospital Quetta, Dr. Amin Mandokhail, Dean, PGMI, Professor Dr. Naseebullah Zarkoon, Chief Surgeon, Trauma Centre, Surgeon Iqbal Jaffar, Deputy Director, Trauma Centre, Dr. Humaira, Dr. Saleem Boriwal, Dr. Saidal Khan, Dr. Jahanzaib and others were also present.
