TAFTAN: All Quetta Taftan Coaches Transport Union Rakhshan Division on Tuesday said that the strike of public transport on Taftan-Rakhshan route of Balochistan province would continue until the acceptance of its all demands.

In a statement, the union spokesman said the strike was being continued for the last five days against Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) introduced for public transport of Taftan-Rakhshan routes.

The union spokesman said that dozens of check posts of security forces set inside N-40 Quetta-Taftan highway were creating hardships not only to the transporters but also to the people instead of providing relief to them.

“All Quetta Taftan Coaches Transport Union Rakhshan Division is not against checking rather it has observations over the procedure of checking at check posts of security forces and SOP.”

The union spokesman said patrolling of security forces on Quetta-Taftan route be increased to maintain law and order situation. He said that the source of income of the people of Balochistan was associated with border business and transport, but the check posts of security forces had made transporters unemployed.
