Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan has issued a powerful call to reshape the narrative surrounding Balochistan, urging that the province must be defined by its patriotism and rich opportunities rather than isolated negative events.

Speaking at the inaugural Balochistan Grand Tourism Festival at Lok Virsa, the minister asserted that it is time to present the ‘real and vibrant Balochistan’ to the global community. He emphasized that the people of the province are deeply patriotic and dedicated to Pakistan.

Khan stressed that fostering domestic tourism and attracting internal investment are crucial steps to changing perceptions and strengthening national unity. ‘When you invest in your own people, the world will come to you,’ he remarked, highlighting these as powerful drivers for economic advancement and interprovincial harmony.

The minister’s message centered on displaying the province’s authentic identity, built on its profound traditions, culture, and hospitality, to create a more accurate and positive image.

Echoing these sentiments, Nawabzada Mir Muhammad Zarain Khan Magsi, Parliamentary Secretary for Culture and Tourism for Balochistan, stated that the festival aims to project the ‘true image’ of the region. He noted the event would serve to boost tourism and fortify cultural diplomacy among the provinces.

Organized by the Balochistan Department of Culture and Tourism, the three-day festival is a celebration of the province’s diversity. It features a wide array of folk music, traditional handicrafts, authentic cuisine, and exhibits displaying Balochistan’s vast natural beauty.

Organizers are confident that the cultural showcase will successfully promote a message of peace and prosperity, contributing to a more favorable perception of Balochistan both within Pakistan and on the international stage.
