Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Friday that torrential rains might generate flash flooding in local nullahs and streams of Murree, Galliyat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Bunner, Bannu, Kurrum, Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan, Orakzai, Khyber, Mohmand, Nowshera, Swabi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Northeast Punjab, Hill torrents of D.G Khan and Kashmir.

According to PMD statement, the stormy rains are also likely to cause flash floodingin in Kalat, Khuzdar, Barkhan, Lasbella, Zhob, Loralai, Sibbi, Harnai, Awaran, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Jhal Magsi, Naseerabad, Musa Khel and Jaffarabad. Heavy Downpour may cause urban flooding in low lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, Sahiwal, Nowshera and Peshawar from 02nd and 03rd August and low lying areas of Sindh. Landslides may cause roads closure at the vulnerable hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the wet period.

Strong monsoon currents are continuously penetrating from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal in most central/southern parts of the country and likely to enter in upper parts from today (evening/night). A westerly wave is also likely to affect northern parts of the country from tonight.

Friday weather: More rain-windstorm and thundershower is expected in Sindh, South Punjab and northeast/southeast Balochistan. Rain-windstorm/thundershower is also expected in Kashmir, Pothohar region, northeast and eastern Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan during evening/night. Scattered heavy with isolated very heavyfalls are expected in Sindh, eastern Balochistan, Pothohar region, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir during the period.

Saturday weather: More rain-windstorm/thundershower (scattered heavy with isolated very heavyfalls) are expected in Sindh, northeast and southeast Balochistan, Kashmir, Punjab, Pothohar region, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
