A consultation meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner Office Dadu to address the implementation of Sindh Child Marriage Restraint Act 2013.

According to information on Saturday, the meeting was chaired by Ms Tahseen Fatima Secretary of Human Rights Department along with Iqbal Detho Chairman Sindh Human Rights Commission , Agha Fakhur Hussain Director Human Rights, Agha Fakhruddin and Mukhtiar Abro Deputy Commissioner Dadu.

The meeting focused on finding collaborative solutions to eliminate child marriage in Sindh, particularly in Dadu. Discussions were led by Human Rights Department, emphasizing the need for strong enforcement of the law, raising community awareness, and enhancing cooperation between government and civil society to protect child rights.

Key attendees included members of law enforcement, the education sector, and healthcare professionals, all committed to the shared goal of safeguarding the future of Sindh’s children.

Special attention was given to strengthening monitoring mechanisms and supporting victims through legal and psychological services. The Human Rights Department reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the effective implementation of this law and expressed gratitude for the active participation of all stakeholders in this significant effort.
