Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred three more Kashmiri youth in Baramulla district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the youth were killed by the troops in a fake encounter conducted during a cordon and search operation in the Keeri area of the district, today.
The Indian military has intensified its operations across IIOJK. In Kishtwar district, a joint operation by the Indian Army, paramilitary forces and police has been ongoing in the Chhatroo forest belt for two days, following an attack that killed two Indian troops and injured two others. The operation includes the use of drones and advanced technology. Simultaneously, extensive searches are being conducted in Udhampur’s Basantgarh area, and in the forested regions of Surankote in Poonch, Nowshera and Thanamandi in Rajouri, and various areas of Kupwara. Over the last two days, Indian forces’ personnel in Srinagar have arrested dozens of youth during raids across the city. These escalated operations are aimed at intimidating and terrorizing the local population.
Meanwhile, senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar condemned the Indian government’s assertions of normalcy in IIOJK. He highlighted a troubling surge in arrests and harassment of ordinary citizens, with increasing numbers on detention lists at police stations. Mirwaiz expressed alarm over the potential misuse of draconian laws like the Public Safety Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act against these detainees. He called for an immediate halt to these oppressive measures, urging the BJP-led Indian regime to cease persecuting the Kashmiri people. Additionally, Mirwaiz criticized his ongoing house arrest, which has obstructed his ability to perform religious duties, including attending Friday prayers, since September 2.
On the other hand, at a seminar in Geneva, speakers underscored the severe impact of the unresolved Kashmir conflict on women, spotlighting the profound suffering inflicted by Indian state terrorism in IIOJK. Human rights activists and experts detailed the ongoing trauma faced by women in the occupied territory, citing mass rape incidents, including the infamous Kunan-Poshpora case. The seminar condemned the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war by Indian troops and criticized the Indian judiciary for its failure to hold perpetrators accountable. The speakers called for urgent global action to address these abuses and secure justice for Kashmiri women.
