The leader of the Shia community in Pakistan, Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, has stated that the United Nations has not succeeded in its mission to ensure human rights, with the situations in occupied Kashmir and Palestine serving as clear evidence.
In his statement, Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi mentioned that new forms of slavery have emerged in the modern era, where it is not individuals but states that face subjugation. He noted that today’s world is entangled in political, economic, social, and cultural slavery.
He emphasized that the United Nations was established to provide and ensure human rights and equal rights, but it has failed in its purpose. He added that the situations in Africa to Afghanistan are enough to awaken the global conscience.
Allama Sajid Naqvi stated that addressing human rights violations will not be achieved through mere verbal claims; rather, the United Nations must take practical steps.
