Governor Sindh, Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi, highlighted the importance of the “Battle of Truth,” celebrated on its first anniversary as a symbol of national determination, unity, and adherence to principles. His views were expressed today during a high-level event at Dawood University of Engineering and Technology, emphasizing the nation’s capabilities and resilience in cyber security and defense technology.
Governor Hashmi praised the organization of the event, which provided students with a platform for educational and national development. He highlighted Pakistan’s achievements against technological threats in modern cyber warfare, showcasing the country’s defense expertise.
The Governor explained the connection between the name of this initiative and the Quranic principle of “Bunyan Marsus,” symbolizing collective strength and unity. He mentioned the 1998 nuclear tests as a pivotal moment in Pakistan’s defense history, crediting then-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his decisive leadership in strengthening national security.
Emphasizing the role of youth, Governor Hashmi stressed the importance of establishing Pakistan’s status globally, particularly focusing on IT and modern technology. The government’s commitment is reflected in the $25 billion target for IT sector exports under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program.
He encouraged emerging youth to gain education and skills abroad and contribute to Pakistan’s development. Reflecting on the legacy of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Governor Hashmi expressed confidence that today’s youth would shape Pakistan’s future, especially as the nation moves towards its centennial celebrations in 2047.
In conclusion, he encouraged youth to promote Pakistan’s positive contributions to global peace and development. He also praised the efforts of the Dawood family in establishing educational institutions and expressed hope for students to play a role in enhancing Pakistan’s reputation in the future.
