QUETTA: If the genuine demands of Government Teachers Association (Aaeni), particularly issuance of notification for upgradation of the post of junior teachers, were not entertained, the association would start observing hunger strike unto death on August 03, 2022 after staging a protest demonstration.
These views were expressed by Haji Mujeebullah Gharsheen, President, GTA-A while addressing a press conference in the protest camp of GTA-A set up outside Quetta Press Club here on Wednesday. He said, “We believe in resolving all the issues with mutual understanding and negotiations and time and again problems being faced by the teachers of the province had been brought into the notice of the higher authorities, but unluckily authorities did not take action to get the issues addressed.
Teachers of the province had been observing symbolic hunger strike for the last 10 days in a symbolic hunger strike camp set up by GTA-A outside Quetta Press Club, but no action had so far been taken, he regretted. He said that if the genuine demands of association, particularly issuance of notification for upgradation of the post of junior teachers, were not entertained, a hunger strike unto death would be observed on August 03, 2022 after staging a protest demonstration.
