A husband and wife were sentenced to life imprisonment and fined in the taxi driver murder case on Tuesday.
Additional District Sessions Judge 2 of Khairpur, Ehsan Haider Shah, delivered the verdict in the case of taxi driver Nadir Ali Rajpar’s murder, sentencing the accused, Ghulam Shaheed Jatt and his wife Rubina, to life imprisonment.
The court also imposed a fine of 50,000 rupees on Ghulam Shaheed Jatt and Rubina. In case of nonpayment of the fine, the accused will serve an additional six months in prison.
Both the accused were also sentenced to an additional 10 years for the crime of possessing illegal weapons. In the event of default, a fine of 20,000 rupees each was imposed, along with an additional onemonth imprisonment.
The accused were charged with the murder of taxi driver Nadir Ali Rajpar on March 16, 2019, near the Mashallah Stone Crushing Plant Hills area within the jurisdiction of the Surah police station.
