A high-level Task Force has been constituted by the Sindh government to lead coordinated efforts for the uplift, refurbishment, and beautification of major roads and adjacent commercial areas in Karachi, as per a notification issued here today by the Sindh Chief Secretary.
Chaired by the Mayor of Karachi Division, the Task Force includes top officials such as the Commissioner Karachi Division, Additional Inspector General of Police (Karachi Range), Deputy Inspector General (Traffic), and other senior representatives from the Local Government, Sindh Building Control Authority, Solid Waste Management Board, Karachi Municipal Corporation, Military Lands and Cantonment, and the concerned Town Municipal Commissioner.
The Task Force will oversee and synchronize inter-agency activities focused on cleanliness, garbage removal, addressing encroachments, illegal parking, sewerage issues, infrastructure development, and other civic concerns.
The roads selected for the initiative include Shahra-e-Faisal, Shahra-e-Quaideen, Sher Shah Suri Road, Shaheed-i-Millat Road, Habib Ibrahim Rehmatoola Road, Abdullah Haroon Road to Shahra-e-Firdosi (up to Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine), and I.I. Chundrigarh Road.
All agencies involved have been instructed to offer full cooperation to the Task Force in carrying out its mandate.
