A series of police encounters in different parts of the city on Tuesday resulted in one suspected robber being gunned down, another injured, and two others arrested, as police recovered weapons and motorcycles from the suspects’ possession.
In the fatal of the incidents, a police team engaged suspected robbers near Sunrise Apartments in Clifton Block 1. Following an exchange of gunfire, one suspect-identified as Qasim, son of Azam Khan-was shot dead, while his accomplice managed to flee. Police recovered a pistol, ammunition, and a motorbike from the scene. The body was shifted to a hospital for medicolegal formalities.
In another operation at Bilalsis Street near Bolu Hakara in Aram Bagh, police arrested an injured suspect after a brief shootout. The suspect, identified as Mohammad Raza, son of Abdul Wahab, was taken into custody while his companion escaped. A pistol, rounds, and a motorcycle were seized. The injured was shifted to a hospital, and further investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, in a separate encounter at Total Pump Street in Shershah, police arrested two suspects, one of whom was injured during the exchange of fire. The injured suspect was identified as Jahangeer, while the second was named Babar. A pistol and a motorcycle were recovered from their possession. The injured was moved to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK), and inquiries are underway.
According to the Karachi Police Media Cell, operations to apprehend the fleeing suspects in all three incidents are continuing.
