Sugar being sold at Rs70/kg at Utility Stores

ISLAMABAD: The Utility Stores Corporation outlets across the country have slashed sugar and flour prices on the orders of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as part of the Ramazan package, according to a report on Wednesday.

The sugar was now being sold at Rs70 per kg down from Rs85 per kg. However, the utility stores have made it mandatory for the buyers to show CNIC to get the government subsidized commodities. According to a spokesperson of the Utility Stores, the reduction in prices of flour and sugar will be implemented immediately.

Under the Ramazan subsidy, the price of one kilogram of sugar has been reduced by Rs15, after which sugar has been reduced from Rs85 to Rs70 per kilogram. A 20kg bag of flour will now be sold at Rs800 instead of the previous rate of Rs950.
