Students Embark On Satellite Building Mission At Space Camp 2025

Space Camp 2025 commenced today with the ambitious goal of having students ‘Design, Build, and Launch Your First Satellite.’ The program, a joint venture between SUPARCO’s RESOLVE initiative and the Space Research Centre (SRC), aims to provide practical experience in space technology.

The inaugural event saw prominent figures from academia and the space industry in attendance. Among them were Muhammad Yaqoob, Provost of the University of Central Punjab (UCP); Dr. Muhammad Waseem, Director of SUPARCO’s RESOLVE program; Dr. Rizwan Shad, Dean of UCP”s Faculty of Engineering; and Dr. M. Kamran Saleem, Director of SRC. High-ranking SUPARCO officials, including Acting Director General Farhan A. Chudhery, Deputy Director General Dr. Amir Gillani, and Dr. Akhyar Farukh, Director of UCP”s Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization, were also present to demonstrate their backing for the program.

The first day’s agenda focused on educating attendees about essential satellite components, such as power systems, communication modules, and payloads. Following the theoretical instruction, participants engaged in practical exercises using EYASSAT kits. By assembling and evaluating satellite parts, the students gained firsthand insight into the intricacies of space science and engineering.
