JAMSHORO: Central Chief Organizer of Sindh United Students Federal (SUSF), Asees Laghari, who is also a final year student of University of Sindh has allegedly been threatened with death and disappearance by a university professor on Wednesday.
Laghari, a student of Sindh University, and a resident of Kotri, is the chief organizer of SUUF, a nationalist students’ organization, has said in a statement that he has security threats by university professor Sikandar Soomro. Laghari said: “My final year is here, I came early in the morning for my department thesis work. I was standing in my department with my classmates. Sikandar Soomro, a professor, shouted and called me.
“I thought he was the professor so I went to him but, he said get out of the faculty, I said I came with my thesis work. Laghari alleged that he insulted me unjustifiably and said if you would not go out he would call Ranger. He said Soomro is not their departments’ professor but he used to develop pressure against students who took part in progressive politics. He said such language of the professor and such attitude is mental torture on students. He demanded from the university administration to take action against such professors who used to harass students in campuses.
