QUETTA: On the call of Baloch Yekjehti Committee (BYC), a shutterdown strike was observed in different cities and towns of the Balochistan province on Wednesday against enforced disappearance, extra-judicial killngs and violation of human rights.

The strike was observed in different cities and towns, including Basima, Panjgur, Turbat, Gwadar, Khuzdar, Kalat, Mastung, Taftan, Noshki, Washuk, Kharan, Chagai, Hub, Winder and Dalbandin.

A partial shutterdown strike was also observed in the provincial capital where shops and business centres remained closed in Baloch-dominated areas.

It is pertinent to mention here that BYC started a long march from Turbat city on 06 December 2023 against the alleged killing of a youth, Balach Baloch, non-recovery of missing persons, and extra-judicial killings. After reaching Islamabad, BYC marchers staged a protest sit-in in support of its demands.
