Srinagar: The Srinagar-Jammu highway, the only surface link of the occupied Kashmir Valley with the rest of the world, was blocked due to slippery conditions and mudslides at various locations in Ramban district, today.
According to a Kashmir Media Service report on Saturday, the slippery conditions at Dalwas, Mehar and Hingani besides road shrinking due to mudslide at Dalwas prompted the authorities to close the highway for vehicular movement.
Meanwhile, the Mughal Raod, connecting the Valley’s Shopian district to Poonch and Rajouri district, remained also closed in view of the inclement weather and accumulation of snow on the road stretch near Pir-ki-Gali.
In this regard, officials said that due to continuous snowfall near Pir-ki-Gali and Dubjan onwards, the movement of vehicles has been stopped.
