SPLA’s Concerns Over Sindh’s Education System

The Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA) expressed concerns over the potential destruction of the province’s education system, raising questions about the appointment of board chairpersons.

SPLA leaders, in a statement issued here today, demanded that the affairs of the educational boards be entrusted to professional experts. SPLA’s central president, Munawar Abbas, along with Karachi region president, Rasool Qazi, and other leaders, stated that not selecting educational experts as board chairpersons is akin to sabotaging the examination system.

SPLA leaders emphasized that educational boards are technical institutions, necessitating the appointment of education specialists. Highlighting nepotism in the current appointments, they also questioned the transparency of the search committee.

According to SPLA, the chairman selected by an opaque search committee has declined to assume the position, leading to uncertainty within the educational boards’ administration.

SPLA has urged the Sindh Chief Minister to ensure that merit is considered in the appointment of board chairpersons, examination controllers, and board secretaries, selecting only educational experts to facilitate the improvement of the education system.
