SPLA to File Legal Action Against Social Media Campaign

The Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA) has announced plans to pursue legal action against individuals behind a social media campaign targeting its leadership. The SPLA, deeply hurt by the offensive allegations, will be filing cases under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).

Professor Shaukat Ali Samoo, SPLA’s central spokesperson, highlighted the offensive nature of the allegations aimed at senior leaders, specifically targeting their families. The association firmly denies the accusations, which Samoo described as baseless and motivated by envy over SPLA’s achievements. He revealed that the identities of those responsible for the campaign have been uncovered, and legal proceedings will be initiated.

The character of SPLA leaders, including Professor Munawar Abbas and his team, has been defended as transparent and trustworthy, with their recent electoral success across Sindh cited as evidence of their integrity. Samoo emphasized the high regard in which college teachers hold the SPLA leadership, underscoring the widespread support they enjoy.

Samoo conveyed that the college community is outraged by the campaign, viewing it as an attempt to undermine SPLA’s accomplishments. He stressed that the association, representing the knowledgeable educators of Sindh, will not tolerate such attacks on its integrity.
