Sindh Home Minister inaugurates the Online Issuance of Driving Licenses in Clifton

Sindh Home Minister Zia Ul Hassan Lanjar inaugurated today the Online Issuance of Driving Licenses in Clifton, and congratulated the IGP Sindh and DIG DL on launching online services for the citizens.

“I commend IG Sindh and DIG DL’s efforts on introducing the online driving license services. This will be a milestone in Sindh Police’s history,” said Home Minister.

He added that the citizens will benefit from easy learning, international licenses, and noncommercial license renewals, adding that modern policing will improve Sindh Police’s image and may foster a friendly environment between police and the public.

Sindh Home Minister said that he has personally witnessed the license issuance process and found it satisfactory.

“Sindh Police’s improved image is crucial, and today’s achievement is credited to IG Sindh and his team. This initiative will boost Sindh Police’s morale,” said Home Minister.

He directed DIG Traffic to improve the city’s parking system and congratulated the IT team on introducing modern policing and commend their overall efforts. He also directed the Addl. IGP Karachi to establish model police stations in South and City districts and announce special packages for model police station staff.

“I assure Sindh Police of the Sindh Government’s full support and will identify shortcomings if any for further improvement,” said Zia ul Hasan Lanjar.

Speaking on the occasion, the IGP Sindh Ghulam Nabi said that online facilities are being provided to the citizens, noting that a majority of the people in the city don’t have driving licenses. The online driving license issuance aims to reduce traffic accidents.

The IG Sindh further said that Globally, traffic systems operate under IT. We must adapt to modern requirements. Under IT, services like Search App, Point Me, employee verification, online certificate verification, Hotel Eye, etc., are performing well.

He also commended the DIG DL and his team for online services with a hope that policing innovation continues.

The Sindh IG said that with homebased facilities, driving license branch pressure will decrease, adding that our goal, backed by the Sindh government, is to serve the public and provide maximum facilities to the public.

The ceremony was attended by Additional IGs Karachi, Establishment Sindh DIGs, Traffic, Driving License Branch, South, Secretary Finance, CPLC Chief, SSP South, all DL Branch DSPs, and other officers.
