The Sindh government is launching a program to distribute free pink electric scooters to women and female students in the coming weeks. Reviewed in a high-level meeting chaired by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, the “Pink Scooties Program” aims to revolutionize women’s travel.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Transport Assad Zamin, MD Sindh Mass Transit Authority Kanwal Bhutto, and other officials, where the program details and implementation modalities were discussed.

Minister Memon highlighted the program’s potential to save time and travel costs, along with providing a safe and dignified commuting alternative. The initiative is especially aimed at women who rely on public transport for daily necessities such as education or work.

The Sindh Mass Transit Authority is accepting applications from women and female students, and distribution will be based on merit and need through a transparent process.

Minister Memon emphasized the government’s commitment to a clear and accessible application process for maximum program outreach. He termed this initiative as a significant step towards women’s empowerment and encouraged eligible individuals to avail this opportunity. The government’s overall objective is to facilitate women’s full participation in education, employment, and other spheres.
