Sindh CM Invites Australian Investments in Agricultural Sector

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah today extended an invitation to Australian investors to explore opportunities in the province’s agricultural sector during a meeting with Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins at the CM House. The dialogue focused on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring areas of mutual interest.

The chief minister emphasized the provincial government’s focus on agricultural development and technological advancement, offering a promising landscape for Australian investments. High Commissioner Hawkins noted Australia’s ongoing collaboration with Mehran University on research into crops resilient to extreme weather, underscoring the potential for further partnerships.

Shah highlighted the successful public-private partnership model in Sindh, mentioning the completion of Shahrah-e-Bhutto in Karachi, slated to open fully by year-end. He announced plans to connect the thoroughfare with the port, which aims to improve traffic flow by providing direct access from the port to the motorway.

Encouraging foreign investment in Karachi, Shah portrayed the city as a prime hub for business opportunities. Hawkins affirmed Australia’s commitment to supporting Sindh in the health sector, focusing on maternal and child healthcare and boosting immunization initiatives.

This meeting signifies a step forward in enhancing cooperation between Sindh and Australia across multiple sectors, paving the way for future collaborations.
