During a Cabinet meeting held on August 15, 2024, the Chief Minister Sindh expressed serious concerns over the environmental impact of disposing of plastic mineral water bottles, which contribute significantly to pollution.

In line with the Chief Minister’s directive, it has been decided that the use of disposable mineral water plastic bottles will be discontinued with immediate effect across all offices under the administrative control of the Government of Sindh.

In place of plastic bottles, offices will now utilize jugs and glasses, a move aimed at minimizing plastic waste and encouraging eco-friendly practices.

A circular on this matter has been issued by the General Administration Department to all relevant departments and offices, instructing them to implement the directive without delay. The Government of Sindh also encourages other sectors to adopt similar environmentally friendly practices.
