Shikarpur court awards death sentences to four accused in two case

SHIKARPUR: The Court of First Additional District and Session Judge Ghulam Qadir Tunio Shikarpur on Thursday sentenced four convicts to death in two separate cases.

In the first case, the court awarded death sentences to Rafique Ahmed Brohi and Khalil Makrani after founding them guilty of possessing 380 kilograms of hashish found in their truck. The Faujdari police station registered the case three years ago. Each convict was fined Rs1 million.

In the second case, Muhammad Sharif Brohi and Nisar Brohi were sentenced to death by the court with a fine Rs5 million in the murder case of Muhammad Younus Brohi, who was killed at the age of 19. The fine will be paid to the victim’s family.

This case was registered by Sher Muhammad Brohi, the father of Younus Brohi, at Police station Lodra three years ago.

In third case, the same court also awarded an eight-year jail term to convict Sharif Brohi with a Rs2 lac fine for illegal weapons possession. However, another accused, Moula Bux Brohi, was acquitted.

All convicts were sent to Sukkur Central Jail.
