RAWALPINDI: Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, also the head of the Pakistan Awami Muslim League, said on Tuesday that the government should reassess its policies, as the next two months are crucial for Pakistan’s political landscape.
Talking to media outside the anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi, Ahmed urged the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to promptly address the wheat scandal.
Regarding the position of deputy prime minister, he remarked that the Pakistani constitution does not provide for such a role. He criticised as saying, “Only Jati Umra constitution offers the slot of deputy prime minister.” H said that he has had no communication with the founder or any leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.
Ahmed expressed apprehension about Pakistan would face economic crisis within the next two months. He highlighted the challenges faced by industrialists and growers, stating that wheat procurement had yet to commence and the financial situation of the masses was weak.
