RAWALPINDI:Pakistan Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said on Monday the future politics of Maulana Fazlur Rehman seemed bleak. In his message on X (Twitter), Sheikh Rashid said the name of the next caretaker prime minister would come in the ‘last five overs of 72 hours’. “If the name of Ishaq Dar has been dropped from the list of caretaker PM, then it means Nawaz Sharif stands nowhere,” he said, adding that there was a big difference between an accountant and an economist.

The former federal minister said the PTI had jolted the JUI in the Peshawar by-elections. Maulana Fazlur Rahman could install his relative as governor but could not ensure victory of his party in the election, Rashid said.

He said the National Assembly had been made a factory in the last eight days, which was churning out the bills. The Supreme Court clearly told the Election Commission about the features of the elections, he said. He said the second installment of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was also fixed (on the condition of elections) and caretakers would receive the installment.

He said the ECP should move lawfully as far as the decision on new census was concerned. Differences emerged between former premiers Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif who was playing both sides against the middle, Rashid claimed
