Sheikh Rasheed sees new govt going home soon

ISLAMABAD: Former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed said on Monday that it was time for the ‘imported’ coalition government to go home.

Talking to the media in Islamabad, he said that already names of 150 people had been removed from the Exit Control List (ECL) and the national exchequer was being squandered mercilessly. “Soon, we will get rid of this government,” he expressed hope.

The former interior minister went on to add that at a time when the new government was finding it hard to survive, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the members of his cabinet were trying to get what he called ‘NRO-II’ in ‘corruption’ references filed against them. Rasheed asserted that Shehbaz and his cabinet members had no legal right to remain in power because their government was the product of a ‘foreign conspiracy’.
