The annual Urs celebrations of Hazrat Mehboob-e-Alam, known as Pir Shah Jeewna Krewlia Shehenshah, and Hazrat Pir Ladhan Imam Sarkar have commenced in Shah Jeewna from April 19. This Urs is held every year in memory of these revered figures, and this time marks their 467th Urs.

The ceremonies began with the ritual of ‘Chakki Chung,’ where flour from a specific mill was extracted, symbolizing “common benefaction.” The main day of the Urs will be on May 4, when the custodian of the Dargah, Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, will perform the ‘Rasm-e-Kari’ at 7 PM.

The major ceremony of the Urs will take place on the evening of May 10 with the ‘Rasm-e-Chiragh,’ where a special lamp is lit on a pole within the shrine’s premises. Special arrangements are made to prevent the lamp from extinguishing, as it is considered a bad omen by the public.

The fair will feature cultural programs such as folk music, kabaddi, tent pegging, horse racing, camel dance, and other rural cultural activities. The administration of the Dargah has completed all arrangements for the ceremonies.

For the convenience of visitors, tents, ablution facilities, and water supply are arranged. Strict security measures are in place, involving local police and volunteers.

Devotees from all over the country participate in this spiritual gathering, which includes Naat recitals, remembrance sessions, prayer gatherings, and spiritual consultations. Visitors come not only from Jhang but also from surrounding areas to the revered shrine.
