KARACHI:Following the instructions of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Sindh Food Authority organized a walk titled “Mehfooz Ghiza- Tandusrti Sada” in Boat Basin Clifton. Participants held playcards in their hands and walked from Clifton Center to Boat Basin with the slogan of “Mehfooz Ghiza- Tandusrti Sada”. Director General Sindh Food Authority Agha Fakhr Hussain along with other officers of the authority, owners of famous and well-known restaurants, hotels, food centers of the city and a large number of citizens participated in the walk.
Director General Sindh Food Authority Agha Fakhar Hussain said that the purpose of the walk is to educate the citizens, especially the owners and staff of food centers, about the preparation and sale of food items according to hygiene. People have the right to be informed about all the calories contained in the food items served. We have made it mandatory for all hotels from five-star hotels to small dhabas to change their menus. Calories should also be mentioned along with the price so that people can eat a balanced diet and get rid of health issues.
Agha Fakhar Hussain said that the Sindh Food Authority is trying to ensure the process of preparing and selling food items according to health principles throughout the province. The participants of the walk while appreciating the performance of Sindh Food Authority for organizing food awareness walk expressed hope that Sindh Food Authority would continue to organize this type of walk in the future.
