Karachi:The seventeenth death anniversary of renowned film and television actor Syed Kamal was observed today.

According to Radio Pakistan, Syed Kamal was born in Meerut in 1937 and migrated to Pakistan with his family in 1956. He rose to fame as a popular film star during the 1960s and 1970s, acting in over eighty films and appearing in television dramas.

Throughout his career, Kamal was recognized with several awards, including the Nigar Award in 1968 and a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000. He passed away in Karachi on this day in 2009.
