SECP Issues Warning Against 4D Group’s Unlawful Investment Schemes

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has issued a public warning against the 4D Group of Companies and its proprietor, Muhammad Asif, for operating an illicit investment and deposit-taking operation.

The organization is aggressively promoting the scheme, which promises monthly profits of 8% to 12%, across various social media channels. The SECP clarifies that the 4D Group of Companies is neither registered nor incorporated under the Companies Act, 2017. It lacks the authorization to solicit investments or offer deposit schemes to the public. The SECP warns that participation in these unauthorized financial activities carries a substantial risk of monetary loss.

The commission firmly advises against investing with 4D Group or any similar unregistered entity, irrespective of their structure. The situation has been escalated to the appropriate law enforcement agencies for further investigation and potential legal proceedings.

The SECP reminds the public that a “Certificate of Incorporation” merely confirms a company”s registration and does not grant permission to solicit investments or initiate deposit programs. The commission encourages potential investors to exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of investment opportunities through official SECP channels.

The SECP emphasizes its dedication to safeguarding the public from unauthorized financial schemes. The commission conducts continuous surveillance and intervenes when such operations are discovered.

Suspected fraudulent investment schemes can be reported to the SECP via the Complaint Management System (https://xs.secp.gov.pk), by email at [email protected], or by calling the SECP Toll-Free Helpline at 0800-88008.
