ISLAMABAD:The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday dismissed a petition challenging the disqualification of former president Pervez Musharraf for being ineffective. “The petitioner has passed away. His disqualification was challenged in the 2013 general elections. The term of the 2013 Assembly has also ended,” the additional attorney general presented his arguments before the court.
A three-member SC bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial, conducted the hearing. It is to be noted here that former president Pervez Musharraf submitted his nomination papers from Chitral in the 2013 general elections. His nomination papers had, however, been rejected.
