Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter Convener, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, has strongly condemned the confiscation of properties of Hurriyat leaders in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir by India’s Enforcement Directorate (ED).
According to a Kashmir Media Service report on Saturday, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar in a statement issued in Islamabad termed the ED authorities’ action as a part of the Modi government’s broader campaign to crush the legitimate political voices in occupied Kashmir. He lamented that the confiscation of the properties of Hurriyat leaders and activists is a new tool the Indian occupation authorities are using to terrorize the Kashmiris who have refused to follow the fascist Modi regime’s diktats.
The APHC-AJK Convener said the attachment of properties of Hurriyat leaders including Zafar Akbar Butt and Qazi Yasir by the Indian notorious agency was an attempt to dent their image. Such mean tactics, he said, cannot deter the Kashmiris from pursuing their noble cause for which they have rendered unprecedented sacrifices.
Mehmood Ahmed Saghar said the policy of oppression and suppression would not help India to maintain its illegal hold on Jammu and Kashmir for long. He reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue their freedom struggle till it reaches its logical conclusion.
