Russian Humanitarian Aid Strengthens Ties with Pakistan

Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Pakistan, Albert Khorev, underscored the strong friendship between Pakistan and Russia as he handed over a significant consignment of humanitarian aid to the National Disaster Management Authority at Islamabad Airport today.

A specially chartered aircraft delivered thirty thousand kilograms of aid from Moscow, reinforcing Russia’s ongoing support to Pakistan. The event witnessed the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Disaster Management Authority, and the Pakistan Red Crescent Society.

Khorev reminisced about Russia’s past humanitarian efforts following the earthquakes in 2005 and floods in 2022. He highlighted that this latest aid package is meant to bolster ongoing relief efforts in Pakistan.

Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, Additional Foreign Secretary for Europe, expressed gratitude toward the Russian government and its citizens, affirming that this gesture reflects the strong solidarity and mutual respect shared between the two countries.

The National Disaster Management Authority has since transferred the aid to the Pakistan Red Crescent Society for distribution, ensuring it reaches those in need.
