Rubaba hails formation of Commission on Status of Women

QUETTA: Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi, Parliamentary Secretary for Science, Technology, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, while expressing pleasure over the forming “Commission on Status of Women”, has said that the forming of women commission for the first time in the history of Balochistan would help provide the opportunities to women to participate in the policies making process regarding rights of women.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, she said that legislation was being enacted in Balochistan to protect the rights of women, children and other deprived segments of society, adding that the provincial cabinet of late approved “Domestic Violence Rules, 2014.

She said that earlier Home Based Workers Act was also approved by the provincial cabinet. Felicitating Fozia Shaheen, Chairperson, Commission on status of women and other notified members Tahira Perveen, Shahida Alizai, Zarghona Bareach, Dr. Tahira Baloch, Zarghoona Wadood, Ashfaq Mengal, Dr. Taj Baloch, Rahima Jalal, Shania Khan and Tanzila Sadiq, she hoped that the newly appointed members of the commission would utilize their services to provide opportunities to women of Balochistan in every sphere of life.
