Rs65m allocated for Kohlu uplift work embezzled

QUETTA: Sixty-five million rupees allocated during the fiscal year 2008 for construction of two roads in district Kohlu of Balochistan province under Kohlu Development Program, a joint venture of federal and provincial government, had allegedly been embezzled, according to a NAB information on Wednesday.

NAB Balochistan filed the reference before Accountability Court Quetta against 16 persons including former Deputy Commissioner Kohlu and contractors.

The accused include Ejaz Haider Shah, former Deputy Commissioner, Kohlu/ Project Director, Kohlu Development Package and others, including officers of Communication and Works Department, Zahir Baloch, Aslam Qambrani and Fazal Muhammad Zarkoon, allegedly accused of embezzling 65 million rupees allocated for construction of Tamboo to Pazza and Duki to Pazza road under Kohlu Development Package during the year 2008, had been filed in the Accountability Court, Quetta.
