GWADAR: MPA Mir Hamal Kalmati, has said that government had attached top priority to the development of Gwadar.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said that several development projects reflected in the current PSDP were being executed across district Gwadar, including Gwadar city, adding that handsome amount of funds had been earmarked in the PSDP for the current fiscal year for construction of black top roads in all the Tehsils, Union Councils and streets of Gwadar.
He added that Rs250 million for Gwadar city, Rs130 million for Pasni city, Rs80 million for Jewani, Rs80 million for Ormara, Rs50 million for Peshkan, Rs50 million for Sirbund and Rs50 million for construction of blacktop had been reflected in the PSDP for the current financial year, including Rs13 million construction of boundary wall for Hindu community in Pasni.
He said that an amount of Rs. 60 million had also been allocated for purchasing transformers and electric polls while the project for constructing delay action dam with the estimated cost of Rs195 million had also been included in the PSDP. Kalmati said that projects for construction of two dams in Ormara had also been included in the PSDP.
He said that different projects were being executed for provision of healthcare facilities to the dwellers of Gwadar, adding that “Idara-e-Taraqiyat Hospital, Gwadar” would be handed over to “Indus Hospital” so as to provide free of cost healthcare facilities to the people of Gwadar. He said that construction work of 150 bedded Pak-China Friendship Hospital, Gwadar was in progress besides executing Gwadar Old City Project.
He said that agreement had been inked with neighbouring country Iran to supply additional electricity to improve the power system in Mekran Division besides linking Mekran Division, including Gwadar, with national grid. He thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo to have included development projects for Gwadar in federal as well as provincial PSDPs.
